We created IDAhope Therapy and Wellness with the shared vision of reaching families who feel stuck and need guidance. We wanted to build a group practice where we could collaborate and work together with families, addressing the unique challenges and dynamics they face.
Emily specializes in working with younger children, teens, and young adults, while Kelly focuses on adults and young adults. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive approach to therapy, supporting individuals and families in regaining hope, balance, and fulfillment in their lives.
I am a dedicated Therapist with a deep passion for supporting youth and their families. Two years ago, my family and I embraced a new chapter by moving to the beautiful landscapes of Idaho. Drawn by the promise of a healthy environment and the allure of the great outdoors, we wanted a place where our children could truly thrive amidst nature.
Family is at the heart of everything I do. I’m a proud mother to two wonderful kids: Cash, who is 8, and Bowie, who is 6. Life has a funny way of coming full circle—I married my elementary school sweetheart, and together we’re rediscovering the joys of childhood through our own children. Exploring our new home in Idaho has become a cherished family adventure, filled with hiking, camping, and countless outdoor discoveries.
Academically, my journey led me to Pepperdine University, where I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology. Since 2010, I’ve been fortunate to work in private practice, offering personalized care to individuals seeking guidance. My professional path also includes meaningful work at a youth adolescent treatment center, where I’ve supported kids grappling with addiction, eating disorders, anxiety, and depression. These experiences have reinforced my commitment to fostering resilience and well-being in young people.
When I’m not in the office, you’ll find me immersed in family life and the natural beauty that surrounds us. Whether we’re embarking on a new trail, enjoying a picnic by the lake, or simply spending quality time at home, these moments are the foundation of my happiness.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a bit about me. I look forward to the possibility of working together and supporting you on your journey toward healing and growth.
The capacity to heal and to love never cease to amaze me. We are miraculous and complex creatures and my aim is to create space for honoring that. For the past 17 years I have specialized in working with people struggling with eating disorders and co-morbid conditions such as depression, anxiety, identity issues, PTSD/trauma, OCD, and substance abuse. I also work with people who are exploring issues related to identity, transition, gender, sexuality, and the overall daily human experience, in order to support people in finding meaning, purpose, and connection.
The absence of meaning, purpose, and connection can lead to disorder and dysfunction. The greatest gift of being a therapist helping people let go of unhealthy coping skills and cultivate an authentic and full life. In my practice, I focus on the specific needs and goals of the individual, couple, or family through story, intervention, tools, and feedback.
I help my clients address issues preventing them from moving forward and reclaiming their lives. I conceptualize these disorders as relational/attachment barriers and focus on the underlying functions the behaviors serve. I help with identifying more adaptive ways of being in the world, with others and, ultimately, heal their relationship with themselves.
